SHRIEEK

SHRIEEK is a supernatural short horror film with a revenge twist. Written and directed by Marcelle Marais.

LOGLINE:

Suzanne, a young housewife trapped in an abusive marriage, is lured into the forest by a supernatural being and forced to confront her deepest desires for escape.

SUMMARY:

Suzanne is a recent immigrant to a small rural town, and her life exists within the four walls of the farmhouse she shares with her husband, Joe. His job as a sheriff leaves little time for her, she hides her feelings and presence to not upset him. Joe goes out on a call and instructs Suzanne to stay inside. Several people have gone missing in recent weeks. Suzanne complies but is drawn into the forest by a mysterious dark Figure.

Running into the night, a dance of predator and prey, the Figure pins Suzanne to the ground infusing her with new powers and primal strength. Joe returns home early and finds Suzanne outside. He attacks her, angered by her disobedience. The Figure intervenes, pulling Joe away from Suzanne. She embraces the primal rage within her, transforms into a powerful entity, hunts Joe in the forest and rips him limb from limb. She is free and prey no more.
